What to do in Vilnius as a local

  • Lunch of the day. Lithuanians during the lunch break are going to various dining places to enjoy the lunch of the day. From 11:00 till 15:00, most restaurants and canteens serve a more affordable lunch that is not on the main menu. They offer different two or three-course lunches every day. Ask the restaurant about today's lunch of the day.

  • Bernardinu Kiemas: This street food place is located on the territory of former water supply company. It is charming during the summer, with many locals enjoying street food, music, and the atmosphere. The place is situated between Bernardine Church and the park.   • Open Kitchen Vilnius: This is a nice street food place. It is open during the warm season from May till September every Friday. It is a great place to grab some delicious food. Open Kitchen also has good beer. The cozy atmosphere makes it perfect for unwinding after a busy day.

  • Bernardine Garden is the most beautiful free public park in Vilnius. It is located on the left bank of the Vilnia river between the Gediminas Hill and Bernardine Monastery. In its territory you can find the monastery exposition, the botanic exposition, walking tracks,  fountains, children's playground. It hosts a variety of festivals and exhibitions, including an amateur chess championship.

  • Valakampiai 1st Beach, nestled by the Antakalnis Pine Forest, is easily accessible by public transport or bicycles. It is one of the largest and most beautiful public beaches in Vilnius, equipped with developed infrastructure for active recreation and leisure:

  • The ice skating rink at Vilnius Akropolis shopping center is open year-round. It's a cool place to skate and have fun, whether it's hot or cold outside.
